Creativity and Connections

Week in Review: 2.5.16-2.11.16

It's a gorgeous day in Texas today so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet.
I like how LEGO blocks are literally connecting me to people. My niece and nephew, adults I already knew but didn't know they liked building, and people I didn't know at all but who have let me know they also enjoy this fun creative activity.

My nephew and niece made the most profound comment as I had the privilege of building with them (we made a garbage truck in case you were interested). Something broke off mid-build and they said, "It's going to come apart." Wow, such wisdom. They didn't fight it or get frustrated, that's just a part of the process and they accepted it to play and enjoy. I have a lot to learn. Also the ideas they come up with are just great - a port-a-potty with a glass door -yep - think about that one. I was so happy with my Day 40 as a unique idea just came to me and asked me to be created, that's a first! But back to the kids, there is no judgment, and nothing is considered trash or a waste of an idea (yes I'm pulling in that garbage truck again). It also reminds me of the movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. It's all about creating and so many of the things the main character makes don't work but he keeps going, and he has people who believe in him. I am thankful for those who support and believe in me, I could not do this adventure in creativity or life without them. Pigs really do fly (Day 42) and I'm trying to remember that.
