This was the first SoulCollage® card I ever made. SoulCollage® cards are for personal use and SoulCollage® does not advocate infringing on the copyrighted work of others in any way so my card cannot be shared here. But please imagine a bright yellow background with a female figure reaching towards a hand in the sky. There are also two other collaged images on it - a dog with a butterfly and a smiling woman holding a goat.
At the workshop where I made it, we were asked to find images to represent the energy we were feeling.
Well, that day I was getting to do some of my favorite things.
I was taking a workshop where I walked in and there were individual stations with art supplies set out!
Then before the workshop I had gotten to walk through a public outdoor sculpture garden and be inspired by the art and the beautiful day.
Plus, I was with a colleague I enjoy.
I was feelings so happy and joyful and playful and grateful.
I didn’t realize all of that until I made the card.
I wrote this in the journaling about my card:
“I see joy and delight in the everyday, in the simple pleasures. I am open to gifts and experiences. I am one with nature. I am playful and loved.”
This card, to me, is definitely about slowing down enough to enjoy the ordinary moments and taking the time to do what brings me joy.
As Brené Brown says, "Joy comes to us in moments—ordinary moments. We risk missing out on joy when we get too busy chasing down the extraordinary."
I hope you will notice the ordinary moments this week that bring you great joy.
And if you are able, I hope you will join us on Tuesday as we practice Gratitude and Joy together.
*Please note, I am NOT a SoulCollage® Faciliator (as of July 2020 I am). I am just applying information for my personal use from a program and Seena B. Frost’s book, SoulCollage® Evolving.
