Picture

Every Wednesday in September join us for a creative Kundalini meditation and SoulCollage® experience that is centered around the theme of building self-compassion.

Expect some easy and accessible movement to warm-up our spines before our meditations. No meditation experience needed - these are creative meditations and most are maximum of 11 minutes (you can always just visualize doing it perfectly if you have any limitations and still get great benefit). We will then move into card making, journaling with our cards, and sharing time.

About your guide

Picture

I have not stopped building creativity and compassion into my life since I became trained in Brené Brown's work in 2014. Yoga is a huge part of my self-compassion practice, and I am trained in Hatha and Kundalini yoga. I have been exploring the world of SoulCollage® since 2017, and became a SoulCollage® Facilitator in 2020 because it continues to be a valuable self-compassion tool for me - as you can see by my quite large collection of SoulCollage® cards!

What is SoulCollage®

Picture
In SoulCollage®, you use your intuition to arrange and collage images on a matte board (typically 5x8") that will speak to different dimensions and natures of your soul. No art experience is needed as if you can cut and glue you can do SoulCollage®. What I love is that all parts of yourself have a space (card) and a seat at the table. There is nothing like having your own personalized deck to help bring balance, support, and wisdom to you daily.

If you are new to SoulCollage®, at the end of this series you will have had a thorough introduction and a great foundation to continue your personal exploration (and forgive me in advance if you have developed a healthy addiction). If you are a SoulCollage® lover already, this will be a unique chance to make cards and explore your deck through a self-compassionate and meditative lens. An opportunity to love on yourself and all of your many parts. You can find out more by visiting https://www.soulcollage.com or reading the founder's, Seena Frost, book, SoulCollage Evolving: An Intuitive Collage Process for Self-Discovery & Community.

Supplies!!!

Minimum you will need to purchase on your own:

•Scissors
•Gluestick
•Anything that you can get images from (i.e. magazines, old books, junk mail, your art work, personal photographs). If you can, start cutting out and collecting images that are interesting to you. And if you are able, reserve at least one magazine as it's nice to have something to flip through in the moment of making to surprise you. If you don't have anything at home you can use, ask your friends and family, or you can also buy collage image packs from this etsy shop, search on eBay for magazines, or print off copyright free images from sites such as Unsplash. Since SoulCollage® does not advocate infringing on the copyrighted work of others in any way, unless you use personal art work, photographs, or copyright free images, your cards are personal and cannot be sold or shared.
•Base for your cards. Traditionally a 5x8" mat board is used in SoulCollage®. It is a really nice size that is big enough to create on but not too big to be accessible and portable. Of course, you can do whatever size you like, but it is nice to have a consistent size so you don't know which card you are pulling. If you can't get mat boards in time, you can just collage your images onto a printer paper the size of the boards until yours arrive. You could purchase a mat board sheet from an art supply board and cut your own if you like, or you can buy pre-cut boards at Kaleidosoul or HanfordMead. You want to have at least five boards for each class, but if you think you are going to enjoy the process I would get more to begin with (24-30 would be a nice start).
•Pen and Paper (or a Journal)

Nice to have if you can buy, but not necessary:

•An exacto/craft knife. When you are done collaging your images onto your card, an exacto knife makes it super easy to get clean edges as you turn over your card and cut away an excess hanging over.
•A cutting mat to use with your exacto knife (I personally use and love this one from Amazon).
•Plastic sleeves. Not everyone uses these but I like the sleeves a lot because they give a finished look to my work, they protect them, and since they are resealable I can open and add to a card at a later date if I desire. They are also available at either Kaleidosoul or HanfordMead.

Registration

The whole 5-week series is $150 (supplies are not included). As long as you can make the first class live, you are welcome to join us even if you will have to miss a class or two live.

Classes 2-5 will be recorded in case you are unable to make one of them, and you can email me if you need a replay link. Please note that the replays will only be available for up to one week after the live date, will only be shared with those registered for this series, and will then be deleted. If we use breakout rooms in a session, please note zoom is unable to record those.

Once you register, you will be sent a private zoom link for the series.
Make sure you also provide your correct mailing address for a serendipitous card to be mailed to you. Can't wait to see you in Self-Compassion September!

If the series does not meet the minimum number of participants you will be refunded your registration fee.

If you are experiencing financial hardship and want to attend, please contact me for limited partial scholarship applications.
