I need a lot of grounding to stay out of anxiety, fear, doubt, and worry.
I'm pretty sure that's why I became both a Qi Gong and Yoga teacher (You can check out all of my movement trainings here). Nature also supports me, along with hot baths, being around animals, and meditation.
At the end of 2018 I moved from the suburbs to an hour northeast of Houston to live in the country. As an Enneagram Type 5, I have never been happier, and it even inspired my first foray into writing fiction, The School of Mysteries. Braving Star Farms is now where I hold most of my retreats and events, and I love being able to offer Equine-Facilitated Learning with my herd and flock.

Self-compassion used to be like a foreign language to me.
I had the worst negative self-talk and thanks to many years of practice, and therapy, I have developed and strengthened a new voice that helps me honor and love my recovering perfectionist self.
The Self-Compassion Mini-Retreat was the first ever Daring Discoveries' event, and it has become an annual tradition because I believe becoming self-compassionate is the foundation to true and lasting change. And since more than one day of Self-Compassion is needed a year, I also wrote a book to be a friend on the journey: Self-Compassion Stories. It's a forty-day art journal experience in growing self-love and self-trust.

I love creating and growing my creativity.
Creative practice is now just how I live my life and why I lead others annually through 100 Days of Building Serendipitous Creativity using my book Practice Pilgrimage.
My movement and creativity loves combined when I got trained in Art & Kundalini Yoga. I am also addicted to the SoulCollage® process, so I became a Facilitator in 2020. I am always looking for more writer friends and so that's why I love holding Wild Writing Retreats as often as I can get away with it.

I struggle to play and rest well, so I have to be intentional with both.
In 2016 I even dedicated an entire year to playing well by building with LEGO® bricks every single day. If that inspires you, I created an online course afterwards to help you unblock your creative magic as well.
Practicing menstrual cycle awareness, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, sabbath, and taking daily tea breaks are all ways I try to rest well. If you want to know more about my tea journey (which ended up taking me to a tea learning center in Taiwan) you can read about it on this blog post. I love serving tea at my events and retreats.

I am continually encouraged and inspired by all who I have the honor to work with and that helps me to keep going.
I love knowing I am not alone on the journey.
Thank you and I look forward to getting to know you!
