1/5/2018 1 Comment Tea Wayfarer and Tea SpiritIn June 2017, Global Tea Hut published an article in their monthly Tea and Tao magazine that included 8 paintings and reflections I had made, inspired by their monthly tea sharing subscription. You can see that article here, as Global Tea Hut considers their work an offering to the world and make their magazine's past issues available for free online.
I have continued to create Tea Spirit of the month paintings and I will be sharing the art with you monthly, along with a reflection. For now, in that same issue I was also featured as the Tea Wayfarer of the month, a section of the magazine where they introduce people in the community. I've copied it for you here in case you are interested in my tea story.

On May 1, 2016, the day before the deadline to enter, I submitted an application for the city of Pearland's Pear-Scape, a public art sculpture trail project. If you've seen the pelicans in Seabrook or any of the cow parade cows, that's what this is. Giant fiberglass pears (4 feet high and 38 inches wide) that would be sponsored, painted by different artists, and then installed around the city of Pearland. I was supposed to know by the end of May 2016 if any of my proposed pear designs had been selected, and then I was to have from the beginning of June to mid-August to paint my pear. My three proposed pear designs ![]() Well, I was never chosen.
