2/26/2016 0 Comments Creativity and The UnknownWeek in Review: 2.19.16-2.25.16If you read my last Week in Review you know I was going to try and PLAY without an end creation in mind. It was actually a bit challenging. I found myself wanting to know the direction I was going to go in and how it would end.
I still read the quote beforehand, but then just built and tried to stay open and explore. I think only one of the creations ended up representing the quote well (Day 52). Interestingly, I think Day 50 represented the quote well due to how I photographed the creation. Also, Day 56 worked well because of what I did after creating that tied to the quote. I definitely feel like I went out of my comfort zone as before I would start with no end in mind, but I wouldn't continue long that way, and would usually have a direction pretty quickly. I did have fun just building and felt more like a kid with my LEGO blocks splayed out and just creating to create and see what happens. I guess it was also an experiment in trusting myself and my instincts and intuition. It also gave me permission to be unrealistic and put a piece somewhere and see if Iiked it. I hope I will continue with this freedom when I feel like it and create something specific when the idea occurs as well. This whole experiment is about creativity, and I feel like I've definitely expanded beyond cars and houses. Although, now that I look at it, I did find my shapes this past week to be house-like and car-ish, but just very unique ones. Interesting.
